Transform your smile with Invisalign in Chiswick

Misaligned or crooked teeth can affect your confidence, your bite and even your speech. Yet many patients are reluctant to explore the idea of having their teeth straightened, perhaps because traditionally the only option available for orthodontic treatment was fixed metal braces. Those traditional braces are not for everyone – they can be uncomfortable, restrict your diet and look unsightly.

Thankfully, there is now a modern alternative that is highly effective at straightening your teeth without pain, embarrassment or inconvenience. At Krystal Dental, we are trained and certified in delivering the Invisalign teeth straightening system and have invested in cutting-edge technology so that our patients can receive the full benefit of this modern, highly-effective treatment.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are unique. Most of our patients choose them because they are very discreet: they’re transparent, meaning that it is very difficult for others to see them. They are also very easy to remove, allowing you to eat and drink whatever and whenever you choose (as long as the aligners are kept in place for at least 22 hours every day), and can be easily kept clean.

Gradually, over the course of your treatment, your teeth will be gradually moved into the desired positions to give you a beautifully aligned smile.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign treatment involves fitting a series of transparent aligners over your teeth. Each aligner is slightly different to the last and will gently move your teeth closer together, further apart or into a straighter position as required. Treatment time may vary between each patient’s case as process is gradual to minimise discomfort and the ultimate effect is unrivalled.

At your first appointment, an impression or scan will be taken on your teeth, from which a series of aligners will be carefully designed. Once your initial aligner has been fitted, you will then be seen periodically to have the next aligners in the series fitted one at a time to continue your treatment programme. How many appointments you need will depend on the number of aligners required to achieve the desired result.

The aligners are made from a strong, thermoplastic material that fits comfortably over your teeth.

Before the Invisalign treatment starts, by using the ‘clincheck’ software, we can also show you what your teeth will look like at the end of your treatment programme.

Will Invisalign work for me?

We are trained and highly experienced in delivering Invisalign, and part of our skill lies in being able to accurately assess whether this treatment will work for you. It is a very popular treatment because it is so discreet and effective, and it is an excellent system to correct:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Overbites
  • Gaps between teeth

It is suitable for adults and older teenagers, and must be kept in place for at least 22 hours every day.

Invisalign may be suitable even if you have dental bridges or crowns. At Krystal Dental we offer a free consultation to determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign teeth straightening.

If, for some reason, Invisalign will not be suitable for your teeth, we would then discuss with you a range of other options that are available that will help you to achieve the same result.

How long does the Invisalign system take?

The length of treatment time depends on the degree of correction your teeth require, but over the course of the treatment your teeth will be gradually and gently re-aligned to create a beautiful smile and perfect bite. Your dentist will be able to give you a more accurate estimate of how long it will take to complete your treatment.
